a. Cheyney University is founded in 1837: Cheyney University of Pennsylvania is a historically black liberal arts college located in Cheyney, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1837 by the Quaker minister and educator, Rev. Richard Humphreys, as the Institute for Colored Youth. It is the oldest historically black college in the United States.<br /><br />b. Brown v Board of Education in 1954: Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka was a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court in 1954. The case overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson decision of 1896, which had established the "separate but equal" doctrine that allowed for racial segregation in public facilities. The Brown v.
