Subject: Custom Order from ISAE:Industries Widely dissimilar industries have recently discovered the advantage of custom overstock cantilever racks As a result, demand for custom orders has been escalating. An occasional although satisfied customer, ISAE Industries, is well aware of our reputation for quality and is currently weighing our quality, price and production time against that of our competitors. ISAE has recently acquired an on-going order from a national client and consequently, is inaugurating plants and warchouses in three different states next year with the potential augmentation of five distribution warehouses anxially sparning the following eight years The warehouses will peremptonly command thousands of units of rack (and other material handing accoutrement) to fulfill the demands engendered by the order. Design requirements must be calculated for nonstock cantilever rack. Two different sets of specifications must be met, but the arms on both must have a bearing capacity of at least 2 ton per pair. Both must be modular so that, in the future, collateral units may be appended to existing units. First set requirements: The single-sided uprights must be 81/2 feet in height and the arms must extend 63/4 feet. The arms must have no lip. The braces must maintain a distance of 5 feet between uprights (measured on center) so that forklifts can move freely between the bases to load and remove sheet and plate onto and from the extended arms. Each upright will support four arms. Second set requirements: The double-sided uprights must be 20 feet in height with six 41/2 foot arms extending from one side and five 51/2 foot arms extending from the other.The arms must end with a vertical restraining lip that protrudes no more than 1 inch. The uprights must be 6 feet apart (measured on center)so that channel and angle bar stock may be loaded and unloaded easily over the arms.
