ir resistance, also known as drag, is the force that opposes the motion of an object through the air. It is caused by the collisions of air molecules with the surface of the object, which creates a frictional force that slows down the object's motion.<br /><br />An example of air resistance is the effect it has on a falling object. When an object is dropped from a height, it accelerates towards the ground due to gravity. However, as the object falls, it encounters air resistance, which opposes its motion and slows down its acceleration. The faster the object falls, the greater the air resistance it encounters. Eventually, the force of air resistance becomes equal to the force of gravity, and the object reaches a constant velocity called terminal velocity.
